Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Axehead by Frederick Edward McWilliam was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2020. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 81,777.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Edward McWilliam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woodhenge, which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 224,750.00 (€ 254,005.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Axehead von Frederick Edward McWilliam kam im Januar 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 81.777,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Edward McWilliam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woodhenge beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 224.750,00 (€ 254.005,80) versteigert wurde.
