Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Apple Tree by Frederick Carl Frieseke. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 403,200.00 (€ 329,681.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Carl Frieseke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Garden in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,407,500.00 (€ 2,275,950.09).
