In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work Woolwich; And Blackwall by Frederick Calvert. The result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,397.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Calvert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ports of the English Channel comprising Folkestone, Ramsgate, Cowes and Dover in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,712.92).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woolwich; And Blackwall von Frederick Calvert zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.397,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Calvert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ports of the English Channel comprising Folkestone, Ramsgate, Cowes and Dover im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 20.712,92).
