Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frederick Calvert could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work Shipping off the coast changed hands for GBP 640.00 (€ 734.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Calvert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ports of the English Channel comprising Folkestone, Ramsgate, Cowes and Dover in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,712.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick Calvert konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wechselte die Arbeit Shipping off the coast für GBP 640,00 (€ 734,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Calvert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ports of the English Channel comprising Folkestone, Ramsgate, Cowes and Dover im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 20.712,92).
