Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The winning horse by Frederic Whiting was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,296.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederic Whiting have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Guthrie Children in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 64,366.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The winning horse von Frederic Whiting kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.296,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederic Whiting auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Guthrie Children im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 64.366,58).
