Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a huntsman, thought to be Jack Champion, of the Old Surrey and Burstow Hounds, standing three-quarter-length, holding a terrier in his left arm, with a hound at his side by Frederic Whiting was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Christies in London in February 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 862.50 (€ 1,411.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Whiting achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Guthrie Children in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 64,366.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a huntsman, thought to be Jack Champion, of the Old Surrey and Burstow Hounds, standing three-quarter-length, holding a terrier in his left arm, with a hound at his side von Frederic Whiting wurde im Februar 2000 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert.
