This artwork by Fred Thurlby achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2004. In the Sporting Art and Dogs auction, the work Rose of Ashhill (24221), a heavy horse sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,912.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Thurlby - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stout, winner of 12 first and 8 second prizes at various shows; and Madam, winner of first prize at Viscount Tredegar's Show 1908, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 11,819.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fred Thurlby erzielte im Juni 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs wurde die Arbeit Rose of Ashhill (24221), a heavy horse für GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.912,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fred Thurlby mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stout, winner of 12 first and 8 second prizes at various shows; and Madam, winner of first prize at Viscount Tredegar's Show 1908 beobachtet, die im Juni 2003 für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 11.819,77) versteigert wurde.
