It achieved a price of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 8,433.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fred Thurlby; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Stout, winner of 12 first and 8 second prizes at various shows; and Madam, winner of first prize at Viscount Tredegar's Show 1908 sold at auction in June 2003 with the realized price of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 11,819.77).
