Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Mixed Roses in a glass vase with a butterfly on a ledge , a landscape beyond; and Mixed flowers in a vase with a butterfly on a ledge by Franz Xaver Pieler. It changed hands for a price of GBP 799.00 (€ 1,271.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Franz Xaver Pieler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, irises, daffodils, carnations and other flowers in a vase on a ledge in July 2000 with an auction result of NLG 23,404.00 (€ 10,287.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mixed Roses in a glass vase with a butterfly on a ledge , a landscape beyond; and Mixed flowers in a vase with a butterfly on a ledge von Franz Xaver Pieler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 799,00 (€ 1.271,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Pieler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, irises, daffodils, carnations and other flowers in a vase on a ledge im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 23.404,00 (€ 10.287,56).
