In October 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Floral still life with strawberries on a ledge by Franz Xaver Pieler. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,246.34), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Franz Xaver Pieler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, irises, daffodils, carnations and other flowers in a vase on a ledge in July 2000 with an auction result of NLG 23,404.00 (€ 10,287.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Floral still life with strawberries on a ledge von Franz Xaver Pieler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.246,34) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Pieler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, irises, daffodils, carnations and other flowers in a vase on a ledge im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 23.404,00 (€ 10.287,56).
