Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Pictures, which included the work Portrait of an Egyptian man, head and shoulders, in a dark red coat by Franz Xaver Kosler. The price achieved of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,377.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Xaver Kosler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arrival of the Caravan in March last year with an auction result of GBP 107,100.00 (€ 126,979.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of an Egyptian man, head and shoulders, in a dark red coat von Franz Xaver Kosler zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.377,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Kosler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arrival of the Caravan im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 126.979,10).
