This artwork by Franz Xaver Kosler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October 2020. In the Orientalist Art auction, the work Portrait of a man sold for GBP 13,812.50 (€ 15,337.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Franz Xaver Kosler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arrival of the Caravan in March last year with an auction result of GBP 107,100.00 (€ 126,979.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Franz Xaver Kosler erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a man für GBP 13.812,50 (€ 15.337,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Franz Xaver Kosler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arrival of the Caravan im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 126.979,10).
