Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Franz Xaver Kosler could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction, the work African Beauty In White changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,256.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Xaver Kosler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arrival of the Caravan in March last year with an auction result of GBP 107,100.00 (€ 126,979.10).
