Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Franz Knebel II could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Barratt Collection - from Crowe Hall, Bath auction, the work Wooded landscape with Lake Albano, with rural figures and a settlement beyond changed hands for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,399.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Knebel II - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'acquedotto Claudio, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 43,040.00.
