Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by František Foltýn could be acquired at Sothebys in London in June 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Hascoe Family Collection: Important Czech Art auction, the work Czech portrait Of The Physician Dr. E.K. (Portrét Lékaře, Dr. E.K.) changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,297.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by František Foltýn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Czech imperialism (Imperialismus) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 479,310.59).
