Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Madonna and Child with attendant angels, in a sculpted cartouche decorated with roses, columbines, daffodils and other flowers on a plinth by Frans Ykens was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,567.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frans Ykens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grapes on the vine, whitecurrants, blackberries, cherries and a walnut in a porcelain bowl with peaches, grapes and a walnut on a wooden table ledge with a large white butterfly in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 119,235.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Madonna and Child with attendant angels, in a sculpted cartouche decorated with roses, columbines, daffodils and other flowers on a plinth von Frans Ykens im Juli 2014 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grapes on the vine, whitecurrants, blackberries, cherries and a walnut in a porcelain bowl with peaches, grapes and a walnut on a wooden table ledge with a large white butterfly im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 77.675,00 (€ 119.235,01).
