In June 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Roses, Carnations, A Tulip, And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase, With A Butterfly On A Wooden Tabletop; And Roses, Carnations, And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase, With A Fly On A Wooden Tabletop by Frans Ykens. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 68,750.00 (€ 50,219.14). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Ykens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grapes on the vine, whitecurrants, blackberries, cherries and a walnut in a porcelain bowl with peaches, grapes and a walnut on a wooden table ledge with a large white butterfly, which sold at auction in December 2002 for GBP 77,675.00 (€ 119,235.01).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 68.750,00 (€ 50.219,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Ykens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grapes on the vine, whitecurrants, blackberries, cherries and a walnut in a porcelain bowl with peaches, grapes and a walnut on a wooden table ledge with a large white butterfly beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für GBP 77.675,00 (€ 119.235,01) versteigert wurde.
