This artwork by Frans Mortelmans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2004. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work A pumpkin, peaches, and grapes in a china bowl by glasses on a draped table sold for GBP 8,962.50 (€ 12,684.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Mortelmans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pink roses in a basket, which sold at auction in November 2009 for EUR 32,200.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frans Mortelmans erzielte im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit A pumpkin, peaches, and grapes in a china bowl by glasses on a draped table für GBP 8.962,50 (€ 12.684,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Mortelmans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pink roses in a basket beobachtet, die im November 2009 für EUR 32.200,00 versteigert wurde.
