Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frans Mortelmans could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and 19th Century European Art auction, the work Still Life With Peaches And Tea Urn changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,580.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frans Mortelmans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink roses in a basket in November 2009 with an auction result of EUR 32,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frans Mortelmans konnte im Januar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Still Life With Peaches And Tea Urn für USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.580,35) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frans Mortelmans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink roses in a basket im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 32.200,00.
