Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Tweed at Coldstream by Frank Watson Wood was sold in the The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh auction at Christies in London in October 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,654.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Watson Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Surrender of the German Fleet, Scapa, Dec 1918 in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 12,562.00 (€ 14,219.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Tweed at Coldstream von Frank Watson Wood wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.654,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Watson Wood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Surrender of the German Fleet, Scapa, Dec 1918 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.562,00 (€ 14.219,43).
