Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Irish Fairhead From Ballycastle Sands by Frank McKelvey was sold in the British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,774.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank McKelvey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The sunlit bench in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 40,800.00 (€ 60,039.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Irish Fairhead From Ballycastle Sands von Frank McKelvey wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.774,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
