Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, c. 1860 by Frank Mason Good was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,195.00 (€ 960.53). Admittedly, works by Frank Mason Good have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Trees after a storm) in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 4,112.50 (€ 4,590.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, c. 1860 von Frank Mason Good im Februar 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.195,00 (€ 960,53) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Mason Good auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Trees after a storm) im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.112,50 (€ 4.590,87).
