Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Yellow Waters - Kakadu by Frank Hodgkinson. The price achieved of AUD 940.00 (€ 555.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Hodgkinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kakadu, Last of the Wet in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,164.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Yellow Waters - Kakadu von Frank Hodgkinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 940,00 (€ 555,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Hodgkinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kakadu, Last of the Wet im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.164,80).
