Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work A bazaar and mosque complex by Frank Catano for GBP 562.50 (€ 650.99). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Catano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing boats on an Italian lake, which sold at auction in September 2001 for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,422.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A bazaar and mosque complex von Frank Catano für GBP 562,50 (€ 650,99) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank Catano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishing boats on an Italian lake beobachtet, die im September 2001 für GBP 881,25 (€ 1.422,84) versteigert wurde.
