Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frank Catano could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Cairo changed hands for GBP 125.00 (€ 158.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Catano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishing boats on an Italian lake in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,422.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Catano konnte im Juni 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Cairo für GBP 125,00 (€ 158,00) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Catano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishing boats on an Italian lake im September 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.422,84).
