Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Figures On A Track In A Continental Landscape by Frank Catano for GBP 58.75 (€ 97.60). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS,DRAWINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Catano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishing boats on an Italian lake in September 2001 with an auction result of GBP 881.25 (€ 1,422.84).
