Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Seine with View of Eiffel Tower by Frank Myers Boggs was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 20,480.00 (€ 18,894.73). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Myers Boggs; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vue de la Seine, Paris sold at auction in May 2011 with the realized price of USD 51,250.00 (€ 35,649.69).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Seine with View of Eiffel Tower von Frank Myers Boggs im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 20.480,00 (€ 18.894,73) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Frank Myers Boggs; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Vue de la Seine, Paris im Mai 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 51.250,00 (€ 35.649,69).
