This artwork by Frank Auerbach achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Modern British & Irish Art auction, the work Head of Gerda Boehm sold for GBP 837,800.00 (€ 983,656.03) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 450,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 86 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Auerbach erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm für GBP 837.800,00 (€ 983.656,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 450.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
