The work Carreras Factory at Mornington Crescent by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in October last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 403,200.00 (€ 469,723.54), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).

Die Arbeit Carreras Factory at Mornington Crescent von Frank Auerbach wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 403.200,00 (€ 469.723,54) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
