This price was achieved in the auction (Women) Artists at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Françoise Gilot; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Living Forest sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,115,718.32).
