Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction THE TRAVEL SALE, which included the work A South American Port, probably Vera Cruz, Mexico by Chéri-François-Marguerite Dubreuil. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,691.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chéri-François-Marguerite Dubreuil - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rio de Janeiro, which sold at auction in December 2016 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,614.53).

Im September 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE TRAVEL SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit A South American Port, probably Vera Cruz, Mexico von Chéri-François-Marguerite Dubreuil zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.691,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Chéri-François-Marguerite Dubreuil mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rio de Janeiro beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.614,53) versteigert wurde.
