Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Alexandre Duval, in profile to the right, seated in an armchair by François-Joseph Heim was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,211.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by François-Joseph Heim - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait D'Adélaïde D'Orléans (1777-1847); Et Portrait de Ferdinand, Duc D'Orléans (1810-1842), which sold at auction in November 2005 for EUR 10,200.00.
