In January 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, Including European Works of Art, which included the work The Astronomy Lesson Of The Duchesse Du Maine by François de Troy. The »bidding war« ended at USD 230,500.00 (€ 180,021.87), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by François de Troy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,776,000.00 (€ 1,313,609.47).

Im Januar 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings, Including European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Astronomy Lesson Of The Duchesse Du Maine von François de Troy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 230.500,00 (€ 180.021,87) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François de Troy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.776.000,00 (€ 1.313.609,47).
