Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Portrait Of Louis Alexandre De Bourbon, Comte De Toulouse by François de Troy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,625.00 (€ 31,123.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François de Troy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,776,000.00 (€ 1,313,609.47).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.776.000,00 (€ 1.313.609,47).
