A top price for Franciscus Wram - as previously expected
The work The battle of the Nile, 1st August, 1798 by Franciscus Wram was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,838.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The battle of the Nile, 1st August, 1798 is the most expensive artwork by Franciscus Wram that we have observed at auctions so far.
