Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House, which included the work The battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797 by Franciscus Wram. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Franciscus Wram have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2010 the work The battle of the Nile, 1st August, 1798 was auctioned for GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,838.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House durch, in der auch die Arbeit The battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797 von Franciscus Wram zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.493,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Franciscus Wram konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2010 die Arbeit The battle of the Nile, 1st August, 1798 für GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.838,12) versteigert.
