Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Constructivo by Francisco Matto was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,924.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francisco Matto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Constructivo en rojo y azul, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,164.27).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Constructivo von Francisco Matto kam im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.924,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Francisco Matto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Constructivo en rojo y azul beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.164,27) versteigert wurde.
