This artwork by Francis Sartorius achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2010. In the Old Master Paintings and British Paintings auction, the work Eclipse, The Celebrated Racehorse, Held By A Groom By The Rubbing Down House, Newmarket sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,139.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Sartorius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Full Cry, which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,791.61).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Sartorius erzielte im April 2010 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and British Paintings wurde die Arbeit Eclipse, The Celebrated Racehorse, Held By A Groom By The Rubbing Down House, Newmarket für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.139,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Sartorius mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Full Cry beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.791,61) versteigert wurde.
