Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Chestnut Hunter In A Landscape With Ruins Beyond by Francis Sartorius was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,017.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Sartorius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Full Cry in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,791.61).

Die Arbeit A Chestnut Hunter In A Landscape With Ruins Beyond von Francis Sartorius wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.017,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Sartorius auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Full Cry im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.791,61).
