Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Horse And Hound by Francis Sartorius was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Drawings, including Property from the Estate of Giancarlo Baroni auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,256.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Sartorius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full Cry in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,791.61).
