Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sans titre by Francis Picabia was sold in the Heatwave: Online Auction auction at Phillips in 19 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,080.00 (€ 5,080.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Picabia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pavonia in March last year with an auction result of EUR 9,996,700.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sans titre von Francis Picabia wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Heatwave: Online Auction bei Phillips in 19 - versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.080,00 (€ 5.080,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Picabia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pavonia im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.996.700,00.
