In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Card Players by Francis Luis Mora. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,978.98), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Luis Mora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 57,600.00 (€ 42,815.73).

Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Card Players von Francis Luis Mora zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 15.978,98) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Luis Mora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 57.600,00 (€ 42.815,73) versteigert wurde.
