Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work In The Shadow Of The Main Sail by Francis Luis Mora. The price achieved of USD 17,625.00 (€ 20,798.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Luis Mora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 57,600.00 (€ 42,815.73).

Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Shadow Of The Main Sail von Francis Luis Mora zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.625,00 (€ 20.798,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Luis Mora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 57.600,00 (€ 42.815,73) versteigert wurde.
