Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis John McComas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the California Art auction, the work Study of Pine Trees, Lake Majella, Monterey sold for USD 6,375.00 (€ 5,774.46) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis John McComas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cliff Dwellings in November last year with an auction result of USD 164,175.00 (€ 159,038.07).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis John McComas erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion California Art wurde die Arbeit Study of Pine Trees, Lake Majella, Monterey für USD 6.375,00 (€ 5.774,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis John McComas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cliff Dwellings im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 164.175,00 (€ 159.038,07).
