Admittedly, works by Francis Cotes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Master Smith, full-length, in a mauve coat and breeches, his right hand resting on a kite, in a landscape in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 532,905.34).
