Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Francis Cadell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2021. In the The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection auction, the work The Harbour Cassis sold for GBP 56,700.00 (€ 66,607.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Cadell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reflection in June last year with an auction result of GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,094,916.90).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Cadell erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Way of Colour: Pictures from the Harrison Collection wurde die Arbeit The Harbour Cassis für GBP 56.700,00 (€ 66.607,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Cadell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reflection im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.094.916,90).
