Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pheasant in a wooded landscape, with deer beyond by Francis Barlow was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 4,116.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Barlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An ostrich; and A cassowary in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 160,650.00 (€ 248,489.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pheasant in a wooded landscape, with deer beyond von Francis Barlow kam im November 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.629,00 (€ 4.116,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Barlow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An ostrich; and A cassowary im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 160.650,00 (€ 248.489,17).
