This artwork by Francis Barlow achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2024. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Birds in woodland: bittern, woodcock, curlew, wood-pigeons and a woodpecker sold for USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,024.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Barlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An ostrich; and A cassowary in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 160,650.00 (€ 248,489.17).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Barlow erzielte im Februar 2024 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
