Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Francesco Salvator Fontebasso could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Works on Paper: Prints and Drawings for under £5,000 auction, the work Bust of a woman seen from behind, her head in profile (recto); Reclining female figure seen from behind (verso) changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,088.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Salvator Fontebasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Annunciation in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 312,000.00 (€ 240,036.93).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Salvator Fontebasso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Annunciation im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.000,00 (€ 240.036,93).
