This artwork by Francesco Cairo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Milan in November 2007. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Giuditta sold for EUR 44,300.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco Cairo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Départ du fils prodigue in March 2015 with an auction result of EUR 409,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francesco Cairo erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in Mailand einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Giuditta für EUR 44.300,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Cairo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Départ du fils prodigue im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 409.500,00.
